Tom Doyle Podiums in Duathlon Nationals and VA Senior Games
On April 26, 2009, I represented Team Rostello presented by Fiorucci in the National Duathlon Road Championships held in Richmond, Virginia. This was a qualifier venue for the world championships. The distances were 10K Run, 38K Bike, and 5K Run.
For an April the day, it started hot and got hot-hot-hot, 90 degrees. I was very impressed with my 60 – 64 age group field of 44 competitors from around the US. There were only 4 of us from Virginia. I finished 14th and was quite pleased when I saw that last years age group winner was 3 minutes faster this year and finished 5th. Read the rest of this entry »
Sharon Leary and Kristin Schaefer Win at the Sprint Into Spring Crit
The promoter of the Sprint Into Spring Crit at Ft. Lee, Virginia, Sharon Leary of Team Rostello p/b Fiorucci, won her own women’s Cat. 4 race! Her teammates, Kristin Shaefer won the women’s junior race while Jake Tremblay took second in the men’s Cat. 1/2/3 race.
It was a total team effort with team members coming in early, as host of the race, to clean and prepare, then race afterwards.

Team Rostello’s Jacob Tremblay and Steven Coelho raced the Syn-Fit Crit on Saturday 18th in Chantilly Va. The .8 mile course, with two 90 degree turns and flat smooth surface, surrounded by blooming dogwood trees and office buildings proved to an aggressive and fast race. Jacob Tremblay Takes Third at Tour De Ephrata
Team Rostello p/b Fiorucci was represented quite well at the Tour De Ephrata this weekend. Jake Tremblay placed 3rd overall in the General Classification in the Category 3 by winning the first stage, a road race. Mike Wierzbicki placed 4th overall in the General Classification in the Category 4. Steve Coelho, however, was involved in a crash that set him back 3.5 min behind the main group, placing 42nd overall out of 63.
Rostello Women’s Team Dominated the Waynesboro Grand Prix
Kristin Schaefer (women’s junior), Sharon Leary (women’s Cat. 4), and Karen Hanson (women’s 40+) of Team Rostello p/b Fiorucci all won their respective categories. Julia Smith was 6ht over all.
The women’s race… well, different courses for different horses. It’s a mile long course, with a ½ mile of climbing per lap. It was about 90 degrees by the time the race started at 6 pm, and it was more than a challenging day. Julie ran a smokin’ 10k race in the morning up in Fredericksburg and Sharon officiated all day before racing. Winning makes it all worth it!
