Syn-Fit Criterium: Tremblay takes 4th and Coelho finishes strong!
Team Rostello’s Jacob Tremblay and Steven Coelho raced the Syn-Fit Crit on Saturday 18th in Chantilly Va. The .8 mile course, with two 90 degree turns and flat smooth surface, surrounded by blooming dogwood trees and office buildings proved to an aggressive and fast race. What else do you expect when you combine MARBA and VCA cycling?
You get fields with 50 plus racers jammed packed together out for one thing…the glory of winning a race. With his win at Tyson’s Corner, Jacob Tremblay entered into the CAT 3 race with one thing in mind ‘be safe and finish strong.’ That is exactly what he did, with 3 laps to go, Jacob position himself up in the top 5 positions of the race peloton and took 4th place in the final sprint. Steven Coelho commented ‘it was very exciting watching Jacob race, In the last kilometer, Jacob attacked, increasing the speed of the peloton, and launching the sprinters to the finish line.’ ‘Very Impressive to see your teammate out there, making the first move into the sprint.’ Jacob’s next race is the Tour De Ephrata Stage Race in Lancaster County PA. The Syn-Fit Crit was Steven Coelho’s fifth race of the season. New to the CAT 4 race season, Steven was looking for a solid field finish and that’s exactly what happened. Steven commented ‘In the end, I felt I did have a good race and it proved all my training is paying off. But when it comes to road cycling training is very different from racing. Even in large group conditions don’t really prepare you for what it’s like to race in a race peloton. In the end, the only way to get better is to race more and gain that experience.’ Steven finished in the main field at 43 out of 73. Steven’s next race is the Tour De Ephrata Stage Race in Lancaster County PA.
