an updated power workshop January 8th and 9th, 2011.
For those of you who haven’t been training with power, it’s time to
get started now! For those of you new and experienced users, it’s time
to come in for a refresher course and learn the latest power training
techniques, strategies and applications used by the worlds’ top
professional cyclist and coaches.
The event will be held by our cosponsor, Dr. Teresa Stadler at
Commonwealth Sports Medical Center, 4101 Cox Road Suite 301,Glen
Allen, VA 23060, 804-270-7750 Innsbrook in Richmond’s West End.
Enrollment is $80 for one-day and $120 for both days. You’ll find all
the details and registration information at bike reg.com or
http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=12037
If you haven’t gotten a copy of Hunter’s latest book, I would highly
recommend you do so. However, you can get a signed copy at the
workshop! In his new and highly rated book, Training and Racing with a
Power Meter, you’ll find great new detail about workouts, workouts
that occur within the workouts and the logic and the science behind it
all. Lots of brand-new material includes two groundbreaking power
concepts.
1) fatigue profiling, which is a way of determining how well you
maintain various power levels over time and how to train to improve
and race to win with this new information and
2) quadrant analysis, which will enable you to see the requirements of
your power in a race effort and then how to simulate those same
required efforts in your training.
In 2010 Hunter has traveling all around the world, teaching and
training with his power concepts. He has personally coached Tour de
France participants in top professional and amateur champions. He will
be sharing the latest in his techniques at this workshop.
Saturday is an all day session that includes a working lunch conducted
by one of Richmond’s top nutritionists. If you provide us your power
files in advance, we will look at them in a case study format using WKO
+ v3 analysis software, helping you (and the class) to better
understand your data, your strength and weaknesses as a rider, what
you can do to improve and how and when to peak in your racing season.
There is no additional charge for this analysis, but please contact me
in advance and have your files uploaded to training peaks or
transferred to a jump drive.
There’s also a special triathlete only workshop session on Sunday the
9th. Hunter recently returned from the Hawaii Ironman triathlon and
will be sharing with you his knowledge on how top triathletes use
power in their training and racing to put in winning performances.
(Hunter and his group personally coach numerous triathletes). Numerous
triathletes who have already enrolled signed up for both days (at a
discounted price)
So sign up now, seating is limited. We are fortunate to have Hunter
available for this important session on power training and racing.
Come out and make 2011 your greatest season ever! Feel free to contact
me with any questions. See you there!
Hunter Allen
